The-63-year-old Randall Jackson is an American bass player, singer, and music producer. He is best known for his work as a jury member of the American casting show American Idol and as a producer of MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew.

Jackson was born in 1956 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His first marriage to Elizabeth Jackson, with whom he has a daughter named Taylor, was divorced in 1990. In 1995 he married Erika Riker. They have a daughter named Zoe and a son named Jordan. In 2003 he lost 52 kg after a gastric bypass operation. In February 2008 he announced on television that he had diabetes type 2.
